Government Arts and Science College (Erstwhile Thiruvalluvar University Model Constituent College of Arts and Science) was established in the year 2013. The College was started with 5 UG Courses( B.A. – Tamil, B.A. – English, B.Com., B.Sc. – Computer Science and B. Sc. – Mathematics). The University additionally approved 2 UG Courses( B.C.A. and B.Com-CA) and 2 PG Courses (M.Com, and M.Sc – Computer Science) in the year 2016. In the year 2017, the university additionale approved 3-UG courses such as B.Sc.- Physics, B.Sc.-Chemistry, and B.Sc-Zoology and 2 PG courses such as M.A.-English and M.S.c-Mathematics. The College is functioning in the newly constructed and inaugurated building with a total student population of about 1400 in the campus. The College is located in northern side of Tittagudi, one of the religious town in Tamil Nadu where Maharishi Vashitar lived .
